Sand Mania is a four kilometre out-and-back obstacle course along the picturesque beaches of Port Macquarie. It’s all about having fun with friends, family or work colleagues. You will get wet and dirty – not too dirty , and it’s great exercise too. There are 27 obstacles which entrants will enjoy running, crawling, climbing and splashing over, under and through. The course stretches across Town Beach, Gaol Piont, Oxley Beach, Windmill Hill and Rocky Point. Starting and finishing on Town Beach spectators and entrants will enjoy the carnival atmosphere with all the action happening right in front of you. There will be plenty of music, race commentary, food and drink to keep you happy while cheering on your friends and family. Starting at 10am and finishing around 3pm the course will be open to all ages above 12 years. For the five to twelve year olds there will be a special Mini Mania non obstacle challenge with everyone receiving a medal for trying. The event is a fundraiser for three worthy not for profit organisations Marine Rescue, Lions Club and Headspace. Come along and enjoy a great day out while supporting these community focused organisations.
